Requests when entering the store

We ask the following requests when entering our store.

  • Our store is also a workshop, and because of the small size of the store,
    we are not able to accommodate more than one person at a time.
    We basically, we guide one couple at a time.
    If there are customers in the store, please wait outside in the chairs.
  • During production, customer service, etc.
    Entrances may be locked to restrict entry.
  • Although we are open until 4:00 p.m.,
    The last admission desk closes at 3:30 p.m.
  • Products can only be purchased in cash. We do not accept credit cards.
  • We do not have a dedicated parking lot.
    Please use a nearby toll parking lot.
  • No staff speaks English.
    Please understand this in advance.

What is “Nikko one stroke dragon”

According to legend, the creature was created by a dragon.
For this reason, dragons are considered sacred creatures.
In addition, dragons protect not only the creatures that are the objects of Buddhism, but also all living things in the universe.
Dragons are painted to avoid fatalities.
Dragon paintings bring happiness, succession, and peace to the family.
Dragons are also considered sacred creatures of blessing.

This dragon is dynamically drawn with a single stroke of the brush in the “Nikko One-Stroke Dragon”.

Nikko one stroke dragon history

It started with 龍祥(Father) drew a dragon with one stroke Using Chinese ink front of Nikko Toshogu, at Omote-sandonIn 1954.
Although there were other artists at those times, they did not have a successor to take over.
However, 龍祥’s eldest son(2nd generation 龍昇), and the eldest daughter(3rd generation 龍正) have been carrying on the work to the present.
The technique of the first generation 龍祥 that input dynamism and heart and soul to the paintings has been maintained.
